I’m 62 years old and I smoked a pack a day, sometimes more, for oh about 45 years. When I say it like that, I just can’t believe it. I have three children and I did quit smoking when I was pregnant and when they were newborns. But it was hard to not smoke, every one of my friends and most of my family smoked. My father was a salesman for RJR, so my brother, sister and I were exposed to cigarettes from the time we were babies. Over the years I tried different ways to quit from gum, to anti-depressants and nothing worked. My son and daughter, who are now also ex-smokers, introduced me to electronic cigarettes. It was the perfect way for me to quit smoking. I started slowly and finally after a few weeks I stopped buying cigarettes. I quit smoking cigarettes about 5 years ago. After a few months my son gave me a Provari for my birthday and I started vaping and haven’t looked back. After the initial withdrawal the only “problem” I had was the psychological aspects of not smoking. I found myself reaching for a pack of cigarettes or a lighter, that was the habit that was the most difficult to kick, the process of lighting up and holding it between my fingers. Thanks to vaping I don’t smell like old smoke, I can smell and taste food and I don’t have to worry about tasting like an ash tray when I kiss someone. My favorite vape flavors are TPR’s Banana Mint Milkshake, Pina Colada, and of course Angel Sauce. I believe that if I hadn’t started vaping that I would still be smoking cigarettes.
